In The Market....

As you all know I am a 2 sport athlete. And as an athlete I understand the fact that injuries are part of all sports. But almost all of my sports injuries have been in one area of my body.....the foot.

Freshman Basketball....Practice day before our first game I'm excited, I'm on the starting line-up! We're warming up and I go up for a lay-up as I jump a teammate runs in front of me. Trying to be nice I tried to angle my body so I wouldn't hit him; well I succeeded but had my ankle flexed straight and when I came down it didn't feel to good.

So that was a minor sprain. I was planning on still trying to play the next day. I warmed up and realized I still had the b-e-a-u-tiful shot that earned me the nickname "All Day", ;)
could still jump, but could barely run. So I went to my coach and pulled my name from the line-up because I thought it was the best thing for the team. I ended up back on the court 3 days after the injury happened...

JV Football......Last regular JV game of the season (there was a sophomore only game 5 days after). I had been having a great season and led the team in every offensive category except for receiving, It was the third quarter and I already had a TD and over 100 yards rushing. I get the play go to the huddle and call it, "Base Right J-Motion 17 Counter Gap on one on one" (yes I remember the exact play) I ran the ball through the hole and had a linebacker holding on to my jersey and another one holding my left leg I ran for about two more yards and then a defensive lineman jumps on the right side of my body. It had rained the night before and the field was still a little wet, so my left foot stayed in the ground while the rest of my body fell towards it. I felt a crack, heard a pop, felt alot of pain! I got up (or atleast tried to) took two steps and and then fell back to my knees, I got back up tried to walk again got a little farther and fell again. I don't remember this part but talking to my teammates I apparently started to crawl! Finally the trainer ran onto the field and help me off. I went to see the doctor the next day and got the great news.....a sprained ankle, torn ligaments around the ankle, and strained calf muscle, same ankle as the freshman basketball.

That was in November, November 17th. Just realized it happen on the 17th on a 17 counter gap and it didn't "heal" till baseball season which my number was 17. :)

Now its football season again, Junior year. On the third day of practice I found out I have tendinitis in the Achilles tendon on, you guessed it, my left leg.

And to top it all off, yesterday during practice tackling drills I made a cut got hit and had some pain in my right ankle didn't think much of it and just kept practicing. So today at practice I still had a little pain nothing major. Then today I sprained that one!!! I don't really remember how it happened I just remember again hearing it pop feeling the crack and limping off the field. Its just a minor sprain and won't keep me off the field. I have a game tomorrow which the trainer has cleared me to play in as long as I'm up to it.

So in closing I'm in the market for some new ankles. But if you can't give that, prayer will also be gratefully accepted! :)

Thanks.
